Summary:
The Recordkeeper Relationship Group (RRG) is responsible for providing an array of services and functions including creating strong relationships with our clients’ recordkeepers, ensuring we deliver a robust cross-organization service, managing the onboarding of new clients and execution of client change events, providing liquidity analysis, asset rebalancing, and instructing mutual fund and company stock trades.
The Section Manager within the Recordkeeper Relationship Group will use their subject matter expertise and leadership skills to help mentor and develop staff, improve operational controls and efficiencies, and help drive technology transformation. The Section Manager must display leadership traits, effectively conduct performance management, career development processes, and enforce disciplinary actions if required.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
Provide effective performance management of an Investment Operations team who are responsible for:Calculating, reviewing and initiating daily liquidity trades for Unitized Company Stock Funds, Multi-Manager portfolios, and custom Fund-of-Funds. Leading client change events including implementations, fund launches, mergers, corporate actions and fund closings by coordinating activities across multiple fund products with various internal partner areas.Managing the Portfolio Rebalancing program for our clients’ Custom Funds.Overseeing daily investor activity and working closely with Unitized Valuation and Reporting Services Accounting and Daily Valuation Operations teams to resolve any issues in a timely manner.Act in a leadership role and as a technical resource or subject matter expert for Unitized Valuation and Reporting Services Divisions and internal partner areas.Research and resolve complex exceptions and coordinate corrective entries and preventative processes.Identify service efficiency enhancements, process and service delivery improvements using creative and proactive measures.Provide technical training and coaching for new processes directed by the client or regulatory changes. This includes drafting procedures and successfully managing the change environment.Active member of the leadership team in establishing goals and objectives to mitigate risk and enhance productivity.Work on a wide range of projects including process optimization, conversion to new technologies, and participating in various governance forums focused on risk management, oversight, and key performance indicators.The successful candidate will benefit from having:
7-10 years of experience with Investment Operations or Defined Contribution administration.Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills, required to identify and resolve complex issues.Supervisory experience.Knowledge of investment operations processes acquired through related experience related to 401(k)/defined contribution plans including recordkeeping, fund valuations, unitization and investments.Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks appropriately. Flexibility to change with business needs and demands.Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervisionSalary Range:
$85,900 - 145,900 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
