Nouria Energy Corporation has an opportunity for the newly created position of Claims Department Manager.  This role will direct the day-to-day operations of the Risk Department, while spearheading numerous risk-related initiatives across the growing organization.  The role is expected to regularly collaborate with safety, legal, compliance and other corporate departments, as well as store/car wash personnel and insurance brokers and carriers.

Primary Job Duties:

Oversee (and perform, as necessary) the day-to-day administration of workers’ compensation, CGL and property claims originating across the organization.  Ensure timely and proactive reporting, notice, response, preservation, etc. for all claim types.  Evaluate and vet settlement proposals and direct third-party administrators.  Develop and implement new department templates, protocol, processes and procedures to facilitate efficient claims administration and collection matters.  Serve as the primary internal and external contact for insurance matters.  Manage renewals, extensions and endorsement of changes and acquire new and specialized types of insurance coverage; complete insurance policy audits and/or premium verifications; reviews contracts for appropriateness.Evaluate business risk throughout the organization and identify ways to mitigate or eliminate impact.Evaluate and establish insurance requirements and related compliance protocol for vendors, tenants, service providers, carriers, contractors, and wholesale customers conducting business with Nouria, and oversee related certificate of insurance compliance. Review loss run reports and make recommendations.Coordinate administrative aspects relating to the maintenance of captive insurance, including all self-funded programs.Support legal, risk and compliance departments in insurance and risk matters.Collaborate with the Director of Safety and others to identify hazards, mitigate risk and reduce incident rates. 

Skills/Experience:

Minimum of ten years in insurance claims and risk management, with at least three years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.Detail-oriented, self-starter with exceptional organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in fast-paced, growing organization.Demonstrated experience leading, teaching and mentoring as well as in project management.Knowledge of CGL, casualty, cyber, and workers compensation insurance coverage and familiarity with insurance policies and loss prevention concepts.Experience in forecasting and analysis of risk metrics.Experience working in a risk department or experience underwriting commercial insurance programs in the retail industry preferred but not required.Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills required.Previous experience with insurance captives is a plus.

Education Background:

Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Insurance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.Industry certification, such as Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or Professional Risk Manager (PRM) preferred.
