Position Summary

The Category Manager is responsible for managing overall category performance, including product selection, pricing strategies, assortment, and inventory levels. This role monitors key financial indicators such as Return on Investment, Return on Equity, and inventory turns, and uses these insights to optimize category profitability and growth. Responsibilities are performed in support of Puerto Rico operations.                                                  

Key Responsibilities

Manage category strategy including product assortment, pricing, and inventory levels from warehouse through store execution to ensure a consistent and profitable product mix. Develop sales forecasts, monitor category performance, and provide reporting and insights aligned with regional business requirements. Develop and manage product category budgets and financial plans to support profitable growth. Plan, coordinate, and execute advertising campaigns, merchandising strategies, and promotional initiatives to drive sales and customer engagement. Monitor industry trends, customer buying patterns, and local competitor activities to identify opportunities and adjust category strategies as needed. Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, service, lead times, and distribution capacity, ensuring alignment with business needs and performance standards. Ensure accuracy of product data, SKU numbers, pricing, and catalog updates to maintain data integrity and support operational execution. Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners, including Sales, Finance, and Operations, to ensure alignment and strong cross-functional execution.              

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. 3-5 years developing and managing professional business relationships in the automotive market. 3-5 years product category management in the automotive market.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Advanced in Microsoft Office including Word, Access, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Self-starter with the ability to adapt to changing priorities, be results oriented and have a positive attitude. Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage time efficiently ."                                                  

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as laptop, keyboard, phone, copier, and printer. Must be able to attend in-person meetings and conduct site visits, which may require walking, standing. May occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds (such as files, binders, or presentation materials).
