Manager, Bus Restruct Services

Job Summary:

The Manager, Business Restructuring Services (BRS) is responsible for executing and leading a team of BRS Staff in business restructuring and bankruptcy related engagements, including bankruptcy litigation, and addressing complex questions and issues under the direction of a BRS Partner, Director or Senior Manager. The Manager, Business Restructuring Services also assists with marketing, networking, and business development activities for the BRS Group, including proposal preparation.


Job Duties:

Bankruptcy & Restructuring Services:

Marketing and New Business Development Activities: Assists BDO pitch team in preparing for new business opportunities and responding to inquiries Prepares pitch books for new business opportunities  Begins to build network of contacts in the industry (lawyers, bankers, PE firms, creditors, etc.) Cross-sells other BDO services (corporate finance, valuation, tax, due diligence, litigation, assurance, etc.) Engagement Project Leadership: Assists engagement director or partner in executing engagements and supervising staff Identifies bankruptcy or financial restructuring related issues Prepares and/or analyzes cash flow projections and identifies issues Assists with the preparation and/or ensures the disclosure statement and reorganization plan meet all required financial and bankruptcy requirements Reviews reorganization/liquidation plans, evaluate plans for client and identifies issues Evaluates alternative courses of action and potential solutions to achieve best result for client Prepares customized analyses and comprehensive detailed reports for client Presents BDO work product to counsel or client and responds to questions Interacts with counsel or company management on complex operational, restructuring or bankruptcy issues Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises the day-to-day workload of BRS Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements; reviews work product, provides timely performance reviews and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance staff professional development Provides on-the-job training for all BRS Senior Associates and Associates on each engagement


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance, required MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred

Experience:

Six (5) years of prior experience performing business restructuring or related consulting services, preferred Prior experience working within a national public accounting firm or consulting organization, preferred One (1) to two (2) years of management experience, preferred

License(s)/Certification(s):

CIRA designation, preferred CPA and CTP certifications, preferred 

Software:

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to review work product developed by others Willingness to go above and beyond to provide superior work product while meeting engagement deadlines Solid analytical skills, including ability to identify issues and anomalies Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to effectively managing staff and delegate work assignments as needed Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel Ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel Management presence and ability to act as key contact on assigned engagements, while timely keeping Directors and Partners informed of progress Ability to develop financial models, especially integrated P&L with balance sheets and cash flows Solid knowledge of debt and lease restructuring, cash flow and balance sheets, along with liquidation analysis Solid knowledge of bankruptcy and insolvency process
 

 

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range:  $135,000 - $160,000
Maryland Range:  $135,000 - $160,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range:  $135,000 - $160,000
