Bid Manager – JLL
 

What this job involves:

As a Bid Manager at JLL, you will drive the creation of compelling, high-quality bid responses and sales collateral that win business and showcase JLL's value proposition across diverse real estate sectors. You will lead a team of bid support specialists, proposal writers, and knowledge management analysts to deliver exceptional RFI/RFP responses, pitch presentations, case studies, and structured content repositories. This role combines strategic content leadership with hands-on proposal writing and team management, directly contributing to JLL's business growth and competitive positioning. You will partner with subject matter experts across business lines and regions to ensure our proposals are compliant, customer-focused, and delivered on time.
 

What your day-to-day will look like:

Develop and submit consistently high-quality, compliant, customer-focused bid responses for RFIs/RFPs, proposal presentations, and clarifications within allocated timelines

Write, edit, and proof-read compelling proposal content with strong themes, logical information flow, and meticulous attention to detail

Develop, update, and maintain proposal baseline repositories structured by logical taxonomy and content type for easy search and retrieval

Understand various business sectors applicable for JLL (commercial/workplace, industrial, residential, hotels, and retail) and their respective proposal components

Conduct research on customers and opportunities, and gather competitive intelligence to inform bid-evaluation processes and responses

Engage with organizational subject matter experts to gather, understand, and incorporate inputs in a timely manner while keeping baselines constantly updated

Obtain necessary information across business lines, regions, functional teams, and SMEs to complete JLL presentations and baselines

Champion proposal best-practice and drive consistency across all documents in accordance with JLL corporate standards and templates

Enhance visual impact of bid responses and presentations by working with graphic designers to create, edit, proof-read, and review graphics

Ensure alignment to governance protocols, internal processes, trackers, update calendars, and document control guidelines

Manage and maintain repositories of business metrics, past bids, case studies, and varied content types on JLL digital systems and platforms (such as SharePoint)

Proactively and promptly respond to requests from teams across the region and follow up to complete tasks

Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while working both independently and collaboratively with other proposal professionals
 

Team Utilization and Management:

Manage a team of varied proposal-related skills and levels, assuming full responsibility for hiring, grooming, training, and conducting regular knowledge-sharing sessions

Undertake day-to-day work allocation, ensuring team's full utilization, efficiency metrics, timely project closures, and delivery to stakeholders

Develop and enforce a quality-check framework appropriate for respective workstreams with required checks and balances

Ensure appropriate stakeholder communication by team members in both written and verbal formats

Hold crucial conversations and productive feedback discussions, both regular and year-end

Take accountability for employee engagement and support team members' ambitions while delivering on organizational objectives

Provide regular reporting on project and team metrics in custom formats meeting stakeholder requirements
 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in relevant field

12-16 years of experience in a professional services firm with demonstrated progression in proposal and bid management

Minimum 3-4 years of independent proposal writing experience with proven ability to craft compelling, customer-focused business content

Minimum 6 years of team management experience, including hiring, grooming, and performance management of diverse teams

Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including formal business writing for senior leadership and client audiences

Strong understanding of proposal management best practices, content/knowledge management, and digital collaboration platforms

Proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, work under tight deadlines, and operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of commercial real estate sectors (commercial/workplace, industrial, residential, hotels, and retail) and their respective proposal components

Familiarity with graphic design principles and their impact on proposal effectiveness

Experience with governance protocols, document control guidelines, and quality-check frameworks for proposal outputs

Track record of driving content improvement initiatives, generating novel ideas, and championing proposal best practices

Demonstrated ability to assess stakeholder expectations, manage crucial conversations, and deliver on mutually agreed objectives across different time zones

Methodical and problem-solving approach with strong client-servicing orientation and attention to detail

Flexibility to support critical client submissions during peak hours or after-office hours when required
