Job Profile Summary Responsible for work associated with obtaining goods and services for all types of business processes applicable to the organization including: • Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.) • Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Finished Goods for Retail, etc.) Activities include product/service sourcing, supplier selection, pricing/terms negotiation, order processing, contract administration, and supplier performance management.

JOB SUMMARY

To help manage an enterprise-wide commodity procurement process for Sysco. The strategy is to help leverage Sysco's size, scale, and resources to lower cost-of-goods and drive incremental sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To help build execute a plan to procure boxed beef nationally for all Broadline and SSMC's (Sysco Specialty Meat Company)Leverage operating company and Sysco Meat Company volume together for the lowest possible purchase costFollow the beef procurement process to align with enterprise goalsGenerate earned income through market buys that will increase total marginDrive profitable beef sales through; better information sharing, response to market, market timing, improved costsCommunicate to Opco's (operating company) market intelligence and help set local pricing accordinglyTrack, plan and review progress with Sr. Director of lbs; gross profit dollars growth at assigned OPCO's (operating company)Help train Opco (operating company) and Meat co-personnel that will enable them to more effectively sell the boxed beef categoryIntegrate large program customer requirements with our beef procurement strategyWork effectively with internal departments such as Supply Chain, Pricing, Transportation, Sourcing, etc. to resolves issues and create competitive advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Minimum undergraduate degree or equivalent related industry experience

Experience

Minimum 5 years of commodity procurement experience with large foodservice or retail distribution

Professional Skills

Must possess and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to apply in communications with business partners, the field, and internal departmentsAbility to plan, manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesPerforms independently as well in a team environmentSome travel (approx 10-15% or higher) required for supplier and Operating company visitsMust be effective at communication skillsMust possess industry knowledge for beef markets cause and effect

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit and operate a computer and a phone for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions

This position will be performed from the Corporate facility in Houston, TXMust be able to do limited travel to Sysco facilities or operating companies.If working remote, must have required software to ensure timely communications and have a dedicated workspace free of any distractions and participate in conference calls in a business-friendly environment.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
