Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Internal Audit APAC to join our team in Singapore. This role is pivotal in leading and executing internal audits across the APAC region, ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls in alignment with PayPal’s audit methodology.

The successful candidate will participate in the development and execution of the regional audit plan, manage audit assignments, draft and track audit issues, and validate the closure of findings. Additionally, the role involves coordinating audit reporting to management, maintaining strong professional relationships across the business and support functions, and working closely with both local and global audit teams.

A key focus will be to build and sustain knowledge of local regulatory requirements and stay current on industry developments within the region. The Manager will also play a vital role in coaching and mentoring audit team members, contributing to the overall strength and capability of the internal audit function.

The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of prudential, consumer regulations, and financial crime risks in the Singapore market, with experience in other APAC markets being a plus.

They will demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both internally across teams and externally with clients, with the ability to articulate business risks and controls to senior management. A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are essential.

The candidate should be a team player with exceptional time and project management abilities, capable of independently handling engagements while seeking opportunities to add value.

They must have hands-on experience designing and executing audit test programs, including evaluating system and manual controls. The role requires someone who can analyze risks holistically, provide recommendations to mitigate those risks, and offer strategic and operational solutions to clients.

A passion for understanding PayPal’s unique community and the online payments industry is important. The position involves executing a range of internal audit projects from planning to reporting, maintaining constructive relationships across the organization, and supporting the development and execution of internal audit strategies and methodologies for the APAC region.

The candidate must also be willing to travel 10–15% of the time.

Essential Responsibilities:

Manage audit assignments, including drafting audit issues and reports, socializing findings with management, and soliciting feedbackFacilitate issue tracking and validate closure of identified issuesExecute the global compliance internal audit plan and related technology reviewsDevelop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, business units, and support areasComplete assigned work, including ad hoc projects and special investigations, within established timelinesStay updated on industry and business changes to inform audit plans, approaches, and risk assessmentsEvaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls for regulatory and technology risksProvide coaching, mentoring, and leadership to less experienced team membersIdentify regulatory and technology risks and act as a business partner to relevant teamsContribute to the development and execution of group audit methodologies and risk assessment frameworks

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 8-10 years of External Audit, Internal Audit or Compliance experience within a large and high growth company that provides financial products and services, and proven experience in evaluating internal controls or compliance programs. Working experience and knowledge of Singapore financial regulatory mandates is required.

 Internal Audit experience from within Technology or Financial Services firms complimented with experience in data analytics and AI use cases would be highly valued.
