You will develop and implement accounting practices and procedures and provide and interpret data from accounting records. You will also coordinate accounting services and integrate them with operating needs. In addition, you will oversee the regional/global management of key processes like fixed assets, leases, intercompany cross charges, new accounting rules, restructuring programs, and accounting for acquisitions, among others.

How you will contribute

Manage some elements of the monthly accounting close process, driving conclusions on technical accounting positions, managing external reporting disclosures and implementing process change projects.Manage compliance with our internal control framework and address accounting issues with the external auditor team. You will also document and implement changes to internal control requirements related to system changes and organization changes.Coordinate accounting services and integrate them with operating needs. You will also provide and interpret data from accounting records as required.Lead projects to harmonize and improve ways of working on AER processes and systems such as SAP, NetSuite, HFM and FIT reporting tools, and build a mindset of continuous improvement within the team. You will also head up on new accounting guidance.Build a high-performing Accounting and External Reporting (AER) team (Mondelēz International employees and Mondelēz International Business Services and third-party providers). You will also recruit and develop AER talent and drive our AER talent agenda globally.

in:

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting including understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS or local GAAP, and of close processes and financial reporting systems. Expertise in complex technical accounting such as treatment of FX, derivatives, employee compensation and pension plans. Expertise in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reporting. General knowledge of tax laws and indirect and direct tax.BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business and finance beyond the accounting and external reporting scope. Big Four accounting firm experience preferred.LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering and communication skills across a large global, public company. Experience working as a global finance leader managing global, cross-functional and business partner teams to drive timely and accurate results.GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to identify strategic opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with our values, policies and external regulations.

In Accounting & External Reporting we are a team of experts dedicated to ensuring absolute integrity and accuracy of our financial data and reporting, delivering results with speed and data that enables insights for Enterprise Value Creation.

The Manager, Accounting and External Reporting will have primary responsibility for the balance sheet accounts and Financial Statements of the Mondelēz North America business.

This person will provide oversight and point of escalation for activities in these areas completed by the Mondelēz Business Services (MBS) partners. Ensuring the validity of the NA Region Balance Sheet accounts are key accountabilities. The role includes improving processes in these areas as well as ensuring monthly, quarterly and annual activities are completed accurately and on a timely basis.

The qualified candidate must have a proven track record in US GAAP. Demonstrated experience in completing complex account analysis and issue resolution are key requirements for the role. Process management and improvement experience are also required. A strong background in financial systems is required with experience in SAP and HFM a plus.

This position will provide accounting support through review and validation of material transactions and processes to increase the accuracy of our financial statements and opportunities to identify, lead, and drive process improvements, while working in a team environment and interact with multiple functions across the organization.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science and/or Business degree in Accounting or Finance requiredCPA is required8 or more years of Finance management with significant experience in accountingExperience in manufacturing accounting is strongly preferredStrong experience in account analysis with a background in Blackline is a plusDemonstrated background in general accounting and Financial statement analysisDemonstrated experience in process management and process improvementExperience with financial systems, particularly SAP, NetSuite and HFM and strong Excel skills, technical skills, problem solving, challenging assertive approachNeed to be able to handle / analyze large amounts of complex dataAbility to work with details/understand business implicationsInternal / External Audit experienceGeneral Ledger / SAP knowledge / HFM knowledgeStrong team player who manages collaboratively with all stakeholdersStrong influencing and communication skillsAbility to lead informal teams

The base salary range for this position is $117,400 to $161,425; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
