The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing general financial accounting operations, ensuring integrity and accuracy of financial data, and supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. This role manages day‑to‑day accounting activities, supervises team performance, ensures compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate accounting standards, and supports internal and external audits. The Accounting Manager also contributes to financial reporting, process improvements, and cross‑functional initiatives that strengthen financial governance and operational efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting & Financial ReportingLead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate general ledger maintenance.Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports in accordance with corporate policies and relevant accounting standards.Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory requirements (as applicable).Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and support regulatory filing processes.Process Management & Continuous ImprovementDesign, implement, and optimize accounting processes, workflows, and controls.Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the team and wider organization.Support and lead initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and operational excellence.Team LeadershipManage, coach, and develop accounting staff; set priorities, monitor workload, and ensure timely execution of deliverables.Drive performance, accountability, and professional development within the team.Audit & ComplianceAct as primary contact for internal and external audit activities.Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and ensure audit issues are addressed promptly.Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate compliance standards.Accounts Payable, Receivables & Treasury SupportOversee supplier invoice processing, payment execution, and related control activities.Support customer remittance processes, employee expense reimbursements, and cash flow management.Coordinate with Treasury, Tax, and other Finance stakeholders as needed.Cross‑Functional PartnershipCollaborate with Finance, Operations, HR, Legal, and other departments to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.Participate in project work, system enhancements, and process transitions.Required QualificationsExperienceMinimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting or financial management experience.Experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and closing processes.Previous exposure to people leadership or supervisory responsibilities preferred.EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or professional certification preferred).Knowledge & SkillsSolid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting standards.Proficiency in management skills such as scheduling, prioritization, coaching, and workflow management.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, etc.); advanced Excel skills a plus.Certifications (optional / depending on region)CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.IQVIA is a leading global provider of clinical research services, commercial insights and healthcare intelligence to the life sciences and healthcare industries.
