We’re looking for an experienced Manager of Accounting responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the Accounting Department by applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information, prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations. This role interprets and implements complex accounting concepts to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and are recorded in accordance with GAAP. This position reports to the Director of Accounting.
Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago, IL. Employees work three days in the corporate office and can work remotely the remaining two days of the work week. We offer 401k plus vision, dental and medical benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Manages month, quarter and year-end close.
+ Oversees the General Accounting processes and journal entries.
+ Interprets established processes, goals and objectives that contribute to Company objectives.
+ Develops, implements and maintains internal control procedures and policies.
+ Develops and implements practices and reporting to achieve efficiencies throughout the entire inventory process, working with stakeholders to achieve stated goals.
+ Supports the Company’s acquisition initiative through performance of due diligence.
+ Manages and reviews the preparation of schedules for Financial, Sarbanes-Oxley and Bank audits.
+ Interacts directly with internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits.
+ Liaises on accounting and reporting deliverables, issues and process improvements.
+ Analyzes complex issues and accounts, providing answers to questions.
+ Ensures completion and review-account reconciliations, journal entries, and other schedules.
+ Prepares journal entries for the month-end close in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
+ Performs ad hoc analyses as requested.
+ Manages accounting staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring, performance review and discipline of team members.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications & Requirements:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (MBA, CPA, or desire to pursue CPA strongly preferred) with at least 7 years of public accounting or corporate accounting experience (must include cost accounting experience), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior supervisory experience and familiarity with large ERP accounting systems preferred
+ Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel and Word required
+ Ability to handle large volume of data
+ Ability to present and communicate with all levels of the organization

Our salary range for this role is $98,900 - $118,660 including a full benefits package.
