The Management Accountant is responsible for key finance tasks such as payroll, management accounting, VAT returns for UK and Germany, and payment runs. You will be someone who is able to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise duties. The role will be located in our head office in St Ives, Cambridgeshire and is a Hybrid role.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
PayrollPreparation of the payroll for 250+ employeesPreparation of the holiday pay hours spreadsheet ready for payroll uploadProcessing of monthly overtimeWorking closely with HR and external payroll provider to maintain accuracy and integrity of payroll.Management AccountingEnsuring completeness of month end accruals by working with departmentsPreparing and posting month end journalsPosting of intercompany recharges and accruing for any that are missing at the month endPreparing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring discrepancies are resolved in a timely mannerAdhering to internal controls and SOX standardsBanking (shared with Accounts Assistant)Preparation of payment runs and ad-hoc payment requests, ensuring all compliance processes are followed (shared with Accounts Assistant)Posting the bank payments and preparing the bank reconciliation (shared with Accounts Assistant)Matching unallocated credits (shared with Accounts Assistant)Expenses (shared with Accounts Assistant)Setting up new users in our expense system (Concur) (shared with Accounts Assistant)Providing Concur training to new Associates (shared with Accounts Assistant)Preparation of the expenses payment run (shared with Accounts Assistant)OtherPreparation of the annual PSA (PAYE Settlement Agreement) & P11D workingsPreparation of the monthly VAT reports for upload to Making Tax Digital toolContribute to kaizen events and other ad-hoc projectsThe essential requirements of the job include:
