Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Mammography Technologist to join our fast-paced imaging department.This role performs high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms, general X-rays, and DEXA scans, while supporting orthopedic imaging procedures and managing orthopedic x-rays.Performs proper radiographic procedures as required by physician orders. Provides patient service using diagnostic, portable and fluoroscopic equipment. Technologist is competent in the production of quality radiographs for proper treatment and diagnosis by physician.

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of approved School of Radiologic TechnologyMinimum 3 years experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Licensed by the State of New Jersey, NJ DEPRegistered by the American Registry of Radiologic TechnologistsMammography CertificationMaintains required BLS Heart Saver / Health Care Provider course completion

Scheduling Requirements:

Flex ScheduleCoverage for day, evening and weekend shifts

Essential Functions:

Assists Radiologists with special examinationsCompetent in the operation of all diagnostic equipment, including portable, fluoroscopic and mammography studiesCompetent in the use of the computerized systemIs able to review and retrieve requests/reportsCorrectly complies with all national patient safety goals and risk reduction procedures and associated policies as applicable to scope of practiceFollows through on all reported equipment problems with appropriate source ex: manufacture, Bio-MedicalKnows proper positioning and technical factors that meet all criteria for quality radiographsMaintain appropriate records and data on repairs and sensitometry/densitometryMaintain proper maintenance of cassettesMaintains clean examining areaMaintains film processors and appropriate levels of films in all areasPerform radiographic procedures as required by physician within appointment protocols and standard timeframes based on procedureProperly prepares patients for diagnostic imagingUses 2 patient identifiers before initiating proceduresProperly prepares room and equipment for diagnostic imagingProvides for basic care and comfort needs of the patientProvides supervision of the diagnostic staff and coordinates all daily activities relative to the operation of the diagnostic sectionUnderstands principles of asepsis when performing using the C-arm in an OR settingUtilizes proper body mechanics in assisting or transferring patients to X-ray table from wheelchair or stretcher
