Maintenance Technician II

Position Summary
The Maintenance II position requires skills to include fabrication of walls, frames doors, repairs floors, walls and articles of furniture as required. Repairs, maintains and constructs building components, woodwork and various types of building systems and equipment. Responsibilities include fulfilling work assignments as assigned by supervisor through the use of drawings, blueprints or verbal instructions. Selects materials and operates equipment to complete work with a variety of hand and power tools in a timely manner. Performs a variety of masonry, ceramic and marble tasks as assigned.

Education Trade or vocational school graduate or equivalent required (OR) completion of approved curriculum required within one year from hire or placement.
Certifications/Licensure Valid Kentucky driver’s license required. Motor vehicle record check required and will be performed annually. Fabricates various articles of furniture. Repairs and maintains building components, woodwork and various types of building systems and equipment. Repairs and maintains ceramic, masonry and marble structures using various hand and power tools. Constructs framing for construction or renovation; hangs and finishes drywall; installs and repairs suspended ceilings. Plans and lays out work from drawings, blueprints or verbal instructions. Communicates maintenance issues with appropriate personnel. Adheres to building codes and regulations. Orders, with the concurrence of the Engineering Manager, supplies and tools needed to accomplish assigned tasks. Recommends material quantities and qualities needed to accomplish various projects. Assists other trades when not assigned work in own trade. Performs snow removal during periods of inclement weather, including such duties as shoveling, hauling, salting and etc. Operates company vehicle to pick up materials and equipment for various projects. Adheres to driving laws and regulations and assures safe operation of vehicle. Conducts general maintenance checks on company vehicle. Reports maintenance issues. Maintains record of maintenance checks.
One year of experience as a carpenter or related experience required.
