Presbyterian is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to plan, coordinate control, and perform, Facility Maintenance operations within a specified portion (Zone) of PHS-A facilities, and provide for an uninterrupted flow of utilities based upon existing design criteria. Major emphasis shall be placed upon preventative and predictive maintenance. This is a entry level position. Promotion to a Maintenance Technician II is available based upon increased maintenance knowledge and performance to meet the Maintenance Technician job duties.

Ideal Candidate:
General maintenance skills or specialist mechanical trade experience in healthcare preferred.
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and preferably, Trade or Vocational School.General maintenance or specialized mechanical trade experience in Healthcare industry preferred but not required.Must Have a valid NM Drivers License and be insurable.Education Essential: High School Diploma or GED
Responsibilities Perform all Preventative maintenance procedures, on fixtures and equipment within a predetermined Zone in a timely manner as prescribed in Facility Services Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Primary responsibility and accountability for performing repairs, lubrication and adjustment on all hospital equipment as to ensure a comfortable and safe environment.Prioritization of tasks and methods with a great deal of independence to operate within established PHS and Facility Services policies, procedures, and schedules.Evaluate and monitor the performance of building and utility systems in assigned Zones.Know, understand, and adhere to PHS and Department Policies and ProceduresConstantly improve technical knowledge and skills through learning from other department staff and participation in educational programs and in-service meetings as available.Understand department operating budget and suggest methods to assure that operations are within budget. Develop plans and recommendations to reduce maintenance costs within the department.Serve as a resource to departments within Zone in the area of facility maintenance operationsSupport organizational visions, values and strategies
