ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include:Packaging and handling machineryPlumbing systemsKitchen equipmentRoofs, drains, shop, grounds equipmentHVACClean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devicesAssist with installation and modification of building equipment and systemsReplace and repair building finishes such as:Ceiling tilesDoor hardwareWallpaperPaint walls, piping, floors, and equipmentTroubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunitiesPossess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenanceRespond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests as assignedInspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, preventative maintenance, etc.Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as:Fire alarm systemsFire pumpsRelated fire protection system equipmentPerform carpentry and snow removal when necessaryComply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habitsAbility to use technology such as:SmartphonesTabletsComputersWeb-based applicationsBuilding automation systemsComplete all required C&W Safety Training as scheduled annuallyComply with C&W Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hoursKEY COMPETENCIESTechnical ProficiencyInitiativeFlexibilityMulti-TaskingSense of UrgencyEDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentIMPORTANT EXPERIENCE2+ years of related experience in a commercial property settingADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONSTechnical, vocational, or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas:HVACElectricalMechanicalProcess controlsMechanical power transmissionsPaintingPlumbingCarpentryEngine repairPossess and maintain a valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required) and good driving record with periodic checksBasic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and WordMay be only maintenance staff member on duty during certain shifts; may be required to work extended periods of time without relief when responding to priority/emergency situations (including overtime type assignments); may require shift work and/or stand-by on-call dutiesWORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a professional office environmentThis role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machinesPHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:Communicate with others and exchange accurate informationOperate a computer and other office productivity machineryMove about the workplaceRemain in a stationary position for 10% of the timeExtend hands and arms in any directionCushman & Wakefield also provides eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health, vision, and dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life, and disability insurance programs, and paid and unpaid time away from work. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
