Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift Location: San Luis Obispo, CA Pay Rate: $30/hr Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Possible 1st shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) Job Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping all production equipment running safely and efficiently. This role supports preventive maintenance, troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues, and performs repairs to minimize downtime in a heavy industrial bakery environment. Key Responsibilities + Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production machinery and facility systems. + Troubleshoot equipment issues, including PLC-controlled systems, motors, instrumentation, and control systems. + Support Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities to reduce unplanned downtime. + Assist with equipment changeovers, line startups, and resolve issues as they arise. + Inspect, test, and operate machinery to validate repairs. + Follow all safety, GMP, OSHA, and Lockout/Tagout procedures. + Identify needed parts, manage inventory levels, and update reorder lists. + Complete work orders accurately and on time; maintain detailed maintenance logs. + Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements. + Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards. Physical Requirements + Lift 50–80 lbs and perform highly repetitive motions. + Stand for 8+ hours; walk, reach, use hands frequently. + Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and use lifts at ceiling heights. + Work in non-air-conditioned, hot, humid, or outdoor environments. + Occasional exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, vibration, and high places. + Must have full vision capabilities (color, depth, close/distance focus).
