Maintenance Technician
Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and performing preventive maintenance on baking equipment and conveyor systems. This includes working with various industrial machines such as mixers, extruders, refrigeration units, proofers, conveyors, boilers, and silos. The role involves replacing, rotating, inspecting, and changing parts, as well as connecting power to machines, installing motors, and rewiring them. The technician will also be required to read blueprints and schematics, move machinery using hoists and dollies, perform welding on steel and aluminum materials, run conduit and electrical wiring to new industrial machines, and fabricate parts using a drill press.

ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and preventive maintenance on baking equipment and conveyor systems.Work with mixers, extruders, refrigeration units, proofers, conveyors, boilers, and silos.Replace, rotate, inspect, and change parts of industrial machines.Connect power to machines, install motors, and perform motor rewiring.Read blueprints and schematics for machinery setup and troubleshooting.Move machinery and equipment using hoists and dollies.Perform welding on steel and aluminum materials.Run conduit and electrical wiring to new industrial machines.Fabricate parts using a drill press, including cutting and making parts.
Essential SkillsExperience troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on automated equipment.Experience with assembly equipment such as conveyors and building industrial equipment.Experience rebuilding 3-phase motors.Own hand tools (power tools provided).Experience troubleshooting industrial machines.Experience troubleshooting PLCs and changing out drives.Mechanical troubleshooting ability to replace motors, gears, and pumps.
Additional Skills & QualificationsInstalling conduit and electrical wiring.Background in food and beverage industry.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and hot, with temperatures inside the plant typically 10-20 degrees warmer than outside due to industrial ovens. The schedule involves working 4 days a week, 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend required. The team structure includes one supervisor and three technicians per shift, with four different crews operating—two on days and two on nights. The plant manager and maintenance manager bring extensive experience in the food and beverage industry.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $69264.00 - $72384.00/yr.
