Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform all assigned Electrical duties in a safe and cost-effective manner. Minimize downtime by providing fast and accurate troubleshooting, repair, inspection, maintenance, service, calibration, installation and configuration of related manufacturing and production equipment. Execute work orders. Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors and managers. Maintain necessary records and documents of work performed.

 

EQUIPMENT

AC & DC motors; motor controls; VFD’s; electrical distribution (480vac or less); PLC’s; pneumatics; hydraulics; extruders; winders; packing and box machinery; slitters; center-folders; grinders; shredders; chillers; heat exchangers; conveyors; and air compressors.

 

REQUIREMENTS

1 year experience as an Industrial/Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician, or 2 years trade/technical school in a related field, or 4 years Industrial/Manufacturing experience with electrical knowledge, skills and abilitiesBasic mechanical aptitudeWork alone, with a skilled tradesperson or operations personnelWork in a team environmentWork with limited supervisionAble to stand for long periods, climb, kneel, squat and crawlLift and carry materials and equipment of 50 lbs or lessWork flexible hoursWeekly rotating shift work schedule

 SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 Working Knowledge –

Electrical equipment and instrumentation or controlsAC & DC motors, motor controls and MCC’aElectrical distribution and related equipmentAC variable frequency drives/DC variable speed drivesProgrammable Logic Controllers and automated equipmentGeneral Industrial or Manufacturing standards & practices including OSHA

 Skills & Abilities –

Troubleshoot PLC hardwareOperate electrical test equipment and interpret resultsRead, understand and make use of associated drawings, schematics and diagramsPrepare accurate documentsUnderstand, interpret and apply the National Electrical Code - NECPlan, organize and prioritize work activities and dutiesMultitask and work under pressureWork flexible hoursWeekly rotating shift work schedule
