Job Description
The maintenance mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of the plant's infrastructure. This role involves a blend of electrical and mechanical tasks, focusing on troubleshooting electrical systems up to 480 volts, motors, and three-phase systems. The technician will also perform routine inspections and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, including general building upkeep.
ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot electrical issues up to 480 volts and three-phase systems.Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plant infrastructure, including mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.Work on blowers, pumps, conveyors, conveyor belts, and packaging lines.Execute tasks based on a preventative maintenance schedule.Diagnose mechanical failures and conduct repairs to minimize downtime.Maintain and update logs and records for mechanical systems.Assist in the installation of new mechanical equipment and systems.Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.Adhere to electrical safety standards and protocols.Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for facility systems.Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements for reliability and efficiency.Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.Essential Skills5 years of industrial maintenance experienceHigh school diploma or GEDExperience with troubleshooting blowers, pumps, conveyors, conveyor belts, and packaging linesAbility to read and interpret blueprintsExperience installing new equipmentLockout/tagout experienceTroubleshooting experience up to 480 volts and three-phase systemsExperience in troubleshooting and repairing motorsSteel-toed bootsComfortable working at heightsMust be clean-shaven for respirator use in certain plant areasAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumaticsKnowledge of preventive maintenance and industrial maintenanceWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
This position is contract-to-hire on the 3rd shift, working from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday, with minimal overtime. The environment is non-climate controlled, and employees will eventually join the on-call schedule, typically 1 out of every 7 weeks, with guaranteed on-call pay. A $1 shift differential is offered for 3rd shift.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
