Volt is hiring Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift for a leading Food Manufacturing Company in Irwindale, CA.
As a Maintenance Technician you will:
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on food production equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and minimal downtime. Follow preventative maintenance schedule. Troubleshoot and repair boilers, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial steam cooking equipment (boilers and kettles). Ensure compliance with Cal OSHA safety regulations, food safety guidelines, and company policies. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues. Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory. Oversee contractors on site when professional repairs are needed. Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance and efficiency. Conduct equipment inspections, document findings, and recommend improvements. Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) principles. Test functionality of facility safety systems. Fabricate new equipment as necessaryQualifications:
5+ years of maintenance experience in the food manufacturing industry. Strong understanding of Cal OSHA regulations and safety compliance. Experience with HMI, boilers, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial steam cooking equipment (highly preferred). Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Computer literacy, including experience with CMMS, Microsoft Office, and automation systems. Experience in Deacom a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Experience with welding.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. PPE: Steel-toed slip resistant leather boots and lift belt required Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and food processing equipment. Availability for on-call, weekends, and overtime as needed. Frequently grip, reach, lift, or pull with both hands. Ability to stand or walk for 8 hours. Bending/Flexing/Extending*Perfect candidate has significant experience with:
HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, welding, boilers, pump/motors, steam, forklift, and electrical.
This is a Full-Time Temp to Hire Position
Schedule: Monday to Friday 2nd shift 1pm-9:30pm (Overtime as requested + Saturdays as needed)
Pay: $35-$42 per hour
