Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will work within the powertrain team to achieve key results aligned with company goals. They must possess a strong knowledge of troubleshooting preventive maintenance and electrical systems. The role involves developing strategies to meet team objectives and requires a working knowledge of standard automotive OEM process equipment and related systems. The Technician should be a proactive problem solver, contributing to day-to-day operations and creating reports when necessary. The ability to perform under pressure, practice teamwork, and understand urgency is essential.
ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance on process equipment in various shops.Conduct preventive maintenance on all types of production equipment.Document all preventive maintenance activities accurately.Collaborate with the maintenance planner to use the CMMS system.Troubleshoot and repair complex problems on production equipment.Repair and replace defective parts.Support installation of new equipment.Fabricate parts for plant and production equipment.Enforce and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.Fulfill other responsibilities as needed.Essential SkillsElectrical troubleshooting.Preventive maintenance.Mechanical testing and troubleshooting.PLC systems.Pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.Electromechanical troubleshooting of shafts, motors, chains, and conveyor systems.Operation of cylinders and valves.Proficiency with multimeter and diagnostic tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsAt least 2 years of work experience in maintenance on manufacturing or industrial equipment troubleshooting electrical systems or related degree with 6+ months of related work experience.Understanding of electrical control systems.Ability to verbally explain the correct use of diagnostic tools.Knowledge of PLC logic controls (Rockwell / Siemens / etc.).Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.Ability to walk 15,000+ steps a day and stand all day.Food and beverage experience due to highly automated environment.Refrigeration school experience (RSI), mechanic schooling.MIG, TIG, and stick welding and cutting skills.Work Environment
The position is based in a large, highly automated automotive manufacturing environment. Maintenance operates on shifts A, B, C, and D. The workweek consists of 40-48 hours, with shifts lasting 12 hours including a 30-minute lunch break. Schedules vary with options for day and night shifts. Employees are required to wear steel-toed boots on the manufacturing floor. The facility operates 7 days a week with a 4-day work schedule for personnel. Shifts include: A (days) Sun-Wed 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM, B (days) Wed-Sat 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM, C (nights) Sun-Wed 5:30 PM - 5:00 AM, and D (nights) Wed-Sat 5:30 PM - 5:00 AM.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
