Maintenance Team Lead

This role will include leading a maintenance team to perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance, monthly safety checks, as well as repairs and modifications to equipment and facilities as needed.

What You Will Do:

Lead team of maintenance associates to ensure proper maintenance and timely repairs of the facilitiesSupervise repairs, maintenance, and construction of equipment and facilities on-siteEstablishes a regular/preventive maintenance strategy and plan  Enforce adherence to safety practices, policies, and principles, in compliance with the relevant federal, provincial, and local laws and regulationsSupport the annual budget preparation and administrationProvide technical assistance to staff and interface with production shift leader/team leader to affect safe repairs to equipment and that equipment is returned to operations in an acceptable conditionReceives and processes work orders on a web-based maintenance management system.Make an estimate of the cost of labour and tools/parts needed for work orders; acquires competitive prices for contractors, supplies and equipmentMaintains all maintenance data and records in the reliability database  Build and maintain the spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies strategyCoordinates work assignments of Maintenance Technicians with the Capital Projects Engineer and Production Team Lead Develops and maintains the list of preferred vendors, suppliers, and contractors. Review the contractor’s qualifications as requiredLead the PM Pillar (Preventative Maintenance), implementing all required TPM tools (KPIs, BDA, 5 Whys, etc.) and keeping the link with all other TPM pillarsPrepares goal setting, individual talent development, and formal talent reviews for maintenance staff

Position Details:

Support two locations throughout Mississauga involving working in an office and chemical production/distribution settingThe position supports multi-shift sites and may be required at times to provide support during various hours including evenings, nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, engineering discipline preferred3 years related experience, including team leadership experienceKnowledge of hydraulics, pumps, and automationNo immigration sponsorship offered for this role

Physical Demands:

Must be able to perform physical dutiesMust be able to lift and carry 50lbsPosition will be exposed to chemical production and warehouse conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

Chemical industry experienceUnderstanding of plant maintenance activities with emphasis on industrial applications or equivalent job experience in electricity, power distribution, industrial electrical wiring, mechanics, machine operations, general plumbing, heating, ventilation, boiler, air conditioningExperience with electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial maintenance environmentExperience with PLC based applications in an industrial environmentStrong technical knowledge.  Experience with pumps, welding, bearings, electrical safety, forklifts, gears, hydraulics, valves, and rigging is an asset.Previous safety and behaviour-based safety culture experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience in a Continuous Improvement environment

This is to replace a vacant position.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

Base salary range is $80,000 - $100,000

Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the compensation for a potential new employee such as education, training, experience, work location, travel (if required), etc.
