Minimum Qualifications One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses. Job Duties and Other Information 80% + Preforms general repairs to all residential hall interiors, exteriors, furniture, fixtures, and other mechanical and related fields such as plumbing, carpentry and electrical. + Repair leaking faucets and toilets e Ceiling tile replacement e Handling basic repairs and maintenance + Performing preventive maintenance e Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment. + Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, repair window, etc.) e Check on temperature problems, repairs/adjust stats in room + Replace burned out bulbs + Performs many varied maintenance issues tasks related to the upkeep of buildings and grounds. + Replace broken switches, receptacles e Conducting routine inspection of premises and equipment 10% + Move equipment and furniture when necessary + Assist in maintaining cleanness around the residential halls. + Provide on-call and emergency response service for Traditional and Tiger Village + Make repairs to air conditioning/heat systems No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
