Salary: $20.75/Hour Minimum Per Teamsters Contract Bargaining Unit ( click here (https://www.greececsd.org/o/gcs/page/employee-contracts) for contracts): Teamsters Report Times: 6:00am to 2:30pm Daily Hours: 8.5 (8 Paid) Work Year: 12 months Supervisor: Director of Facility Operations Civil Service Title: Maintenance Mechanic II Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus one (1) year of experience as a skilled worker in one or more of the electrical, mechanical, or construction trades. NOTE: Additional experience may be substituted for the high school diploma on a year-for-year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: If you are appointed, you will be required to have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position. Desired Qualifications: Skilled work involving responsibility for efficient performance of a variety of building; installing, maintaining and repairing tasks: Good Knowledge of construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, painting and facility maintenance; Experience performing locksmith activities; Working knowledge of specific hazards and safety precautions; Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting, Manual dexterity, endurance; Ability to read schematics, perform research, follow instructions; Ability to work under supervision; Ability to establish good working relationships with others; Ability to work under all weather conditions; Dependability, health and physical condition commensurate with demands of the position; Class "D" driver license required; Construction Trades Skills; Computer and Program Application Knowledge. Position Summary/Responsibilities: Duties to Include the Maintenance and Repair of: Perform skilled work in one or more of the construction trades; masonry, carpentry, painting, or locksmith; Installs, maintains, repairs and rebuilds paneling, bulletin boards, shelves, ceiling & floor tiles, insulation, gutter systems and weather stripping; Mixes and lays cement and concrete for walks, steps, floors and foundations. Plasters walls, ceilings, cuts stone, lays brick and blocks. Performs a variety of masonry activities; Makes, assembles, installs, maintains, repairs and rebuilds doors, windows, stairs, walls, floors, desks, chairs, cabinets, tables and other wood products, equipment and structures; Prepares paints and refinishes wood, metal and other surfaces; Repairs and maintenance on several types of roofs; Other Duties as Assigned.
