What this job involves:
The Maintenance Mechanic supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems across assigned JLL-managed facilities. This hands-on role combines independent task execution with collaborative support to ensure optimal building performance and tenant satisfaction. You'll be responsible for maintaining both interior and exterior property areas while providing critical after-hours emergency support on a rotating on-call schedule. This position directly contributes to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services by ensuring safe, functional, and well-maintained environments for our clients and their occupants.
What your day-to-day will look like:
• Assist the operations team in maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment as directed
• Perform general interior maintenance including hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture systems, and fixing doors
• Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested throughout facilities
• Complete specialized tasks such as painting, locksmith work, tenant service requests, and general maintenance assignments
• Escort vendors onsite to perform routine preventative maintenance or repair work
• Maintain compliance with all safety procedures while ensuring good housekeeping and safety of work areas
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
Required Qualifications:
• Valid state driver's license that must be maintained throughout employment
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Demonstrated working experience and knowledge in general building repair and maintenance
• Basic English proficiency in both oral and written communication
• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and use ladders up to 30ft safely
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot basic systems
• Availability for after-hours emergency response and on-call rotation schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
• Basic computer knowledge for work order systems and digital communication
• Experience with hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal procedures
• Familiarity with State, County, or City building codes and ordinances
• Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance environments
• Knowledge of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage and safety protocols
• Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance teams and external vendors
