**Job Description**
The Maintenance Mechanic will provide operation, inspection, installation, maintenance, monitoring, diagnostics and repair services for HVAC, Mechanical, and Plumbing systems at CMI’s customer in Washington, DC.
**Key Job Functions**
+ Assists in repairing, inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting and maintaining building HVAC and electrical systems.
+ Repairs, inspects, services, troubleshoots and maintains building plumbing systems.
+ Perform minor carpentry tasks.
+ Perform routine preventative maintenance on building equipment/furnishings in accordance with the manufacturer’s operation manuals.
+ Shall be available to work overtime for special projects or events and shall be available on an emergency basis
**Qualifications**
+ Maintenance Mechanics shall possess at least 5 years of recent (within the past 7 years) experience in the maintenance and repair of equipment and systems comparable in complexity to systems covered by this contract.
+ Must possess all required registrations, certifications, and licenses required by State and local jurisdictions, and any specific requirements noted.
+ Shall demonstrate a good working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm and electrical skills and have good oral and written communication skills.
+ Maintenance Mechanics must provide a satisfactory means for contact after normal working hours,
+ Must be able to lift/move heavy objects (50 pounds), climb vertical ladders, operate fork lifts and other lifts, work at heights (50 feet), distinguish colors and be proficient in the use of common hand and power tools.
+ Required to work with in-house Museum staff on routine and emergency activities.
+ Must be able to pass a government background check.
