Maintenance Mechanic
**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic** **Job Description** The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, upkeep, and safety of all facilities and equipment across fabrication shops and production areas. This role involves performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and supporting fabrication processes. The technician will work in compliance with OSHA safety standards, environmental regulations, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements to maintain a safe and productive work environment. **Responsibilities** + Install, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility electrical systems. + Support custom fabrication projects by planning and commissioning electrical and mechanical systems. + Follow maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime. + Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly to avoid production delays. + Implement preventative maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan. + Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption. + Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal maintenance policies. + Operate hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. + Recommend and implement equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency and performance. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency with measuring tools, fitting, and structural steel. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Experience in industrial and facilities maintenance. + Knowledge of electrical systems, fabrication, welding, and MIG welding. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
