Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational functionality of equipment and infrastructure across processing, cooling, and packing areas. You will support the Maintenance Manager in preventive maintenance tasks and oversee plant systems, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and utility infrastructure. Collaborating with QA, Sanitation, and Production teams, you will uphold food safety standards and ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and productivity protocols.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain personal safety and enforce PPE use.Diagnose and repair equipment and infrastructure issues.Follow maintenance protocols and equipment manuals.Install, calibrate, and lubricate equipment components.Perform basic hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tasks.Collaborate with QA, Sanitation, and Production to troubleshoot equipment.Ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards.Support safety initiatives, training, and incident management with HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, and food safety guidelines.Assist with cross-training and special projects.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in troubleshooting, electrical, and preventive maintenance.Knowledge of PLC, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Ability to lift 40lbs+ and perform general labor tasks.Understanding of food safety and food manufacturing processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsBilingual in Spanish is a plus.Ability to read and interpret safety and procedure documents in English.Adapt to shift changes and report safety concerns promptly.Make sound decisions, manage time, and use equipment effectively.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The role operates in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to various smells, wet floors, and must adhere to GMP PPE guidelines. Work involves exposure to extreme temperatures ranging from 35°F to 85°F, contact with sanitation water up to 150°F, and frequent vibration and moderate noise levels. You will work near moving mechanical parts, ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
