What this job involves:
The Maintenance Mechanic supports the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. You will assist MES Mobile Engineers in maintenance and repair efforts while also independently performing defined tasks. This role involves performing inspections and repairs on both interior and exterior property areas, including walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting to ensure optimal facility operations.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Maintenance:
Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to work orders for facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems, equipment, and componentsConduct assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions that impact client occupancy and operationsComplete general interior maintenance tasks such as hanging pictures, installing keyboard trays, repairing office furniture systems, and fixing doorsAssist the operations team with building and equipment maintenance and repair as directedMove office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requestedReplace lighting and ballasts throughout facilitiesClean HVAC coils, change filters and belts to maintain system efficiencyComplete other tasks as assignedSafety:
Complete hazard assessments as necessary to ensure workplace safetyComply with all safety procedures while maintaining good housekeeping and safety standards in work areasRecognize danger and safety hazards; propose methods to eliminate risksMaintain compliance with State, County, and City ordinances, codes, and lawsComplete all required safety training as scheduledPractice defensive driving at all timesComply with all policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materialsAdministrative:
Submit P-card receipts daily for accurate expense trackingUpdate work order status in real time using CMMS systems such as 360 FacilityPerform vehicle safety inspections as requiredEscalate problems or issues to customers and managers in a timely mannerAttend work and safety meetings as requiredOther:
Perform any and all other duties and tasks assignedRequired Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 1–3 years of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical workStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsValid state driver's license (must be maintained)Preferred Qualifications:
3rd party certification in relevant trade areasPhysical Requirements and Work Conditions:
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 ftFrequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving requiredMust pass background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening process (if mobile)Location: Onsite
