Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. Ideal candidates will have experience in heavy industrial or outdoor plant environments. High-level welders or fabricators with maintenance or mechanical repair experience are also encouraged to apply.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure the smooth operation of facilities through effective maintenance practices.Perform basic welding and metal fabrication for repairs as needed.Enhance the functionality and safety of facilities while providing excellent customer service.Ensure all equipment is in safe operating condition and available for production.Conduct timely preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, logging and documenting activities for reference.Commit to working safely and following OSHA guidelines related to Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), forklift operation, machine guarding, and other applicable laws and regulations.Maintain building and grounds in a safe and clean condition.Manage asset maintenance and repair (e.g., forklifts, combi lifts, standup lifts, pallet jacks) through vendors or other appropriate means.Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager on contract renewals to keep equipment and facilities operational.Proactively conduct equipment inspections and safety audits per company policy and best practices.Participate in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews, revisions, and improvements.Essential SkillsTroubleshooting and mechanical repair skills.Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.Proficiency in welding and forklift operation.Experience in an industrial environment.Certification or degree from an accredited trade school or three or more years of related experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsWelding and metal fabrication experience for repairs.Ability to lift/move/manipulate up to 75 pounds occasionally.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, manuals, and drawings.Knowledge of PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics.Skilled in safely and properly using a broad range of power and hand tools.Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.Ability to prioritize competing tasks and resources effectively.Basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and decimals.Driver's License (Required).Bring your own basic tools.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The role is primarily outdoors at a lumber company. Work hours are Monday to Friday, with shifts from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm, including overtime as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Plains, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $34.00/hr.
