Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic will perform a variety of preventative, routine, and emergency tasks for the upkeep and maintenance of plant machinery and infrastructure used to produce high-performance pigments. This role supports a production facility that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet customer demands.
ResponsibilitiesFollow all work instructions, equipment procedures, quality standards, general maintenance standards, and safety rules and regulations.Safely maintain equipment, machinery, and infrastructure to meet customer requirements.Independently repair equipment and machinery by researching equipment files, removing defective parts, dismantling devices, and making required adjustments using hoists, cranes, power tools, and other non-power tools.Accurately record time, activities, and goods movements for all maintenance work orders using the supplied system.Ensure proper documentation by revising specifications as needed.Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.Essential SkillsMechanical maintenance with 5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment as a maintenance mechanic.Experience troubleshooting gearboxes, pumps, valves, actuators, pipes, seals, bearings, and shafts.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with manual lathe or mill is a plus.Ability to fabricate parts such as bearings, seals, and shafts.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment with non-climate controlled, older equipment, specifically for making red paint. Expect to get dirty. Work hours are 6:30am-3:00pm Monday-Friday, with an on-call rotation based on team size. Currently, there is a requirement for 10 hours of overtime. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goose Creek, South Carolina.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $34.00/hr.
