The Maintenance Manager is responsible for safety, quality and productivity on all machinery and facilities, as well as the execution of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
Provide hands on leadership and direction to the Maintenance Team for day to day activities, and inspire high performance through effective goal setting and performance measurement Properly identify failed or worn components and utilizes available resources to obtain replacements Effectively coordinate, plan and execute the Preventive Maintenance Program Responsible for all facility-related equipment and systems: electric utility, air compressors, boiler, hazardous waste Prioritizes and completes assigned maintenance tasks and delegates to subordinates Ensures maintenance employees are following safe work practices and procedures consistently and completely Monitors and controls maintenance operating costs Review repairs for quality or workmanship Coordinate outside contractor work from bid acquisition to construction Interact with outside machine shops to fabricate and or facilitate repair of equipment Coordinate plant projects, design and development, overhauls, machine relocations, etc. Assist in safety program implementation and enforcement Participate in accident investigations, and assist with environmental issues Development and implementation of machine guarding systems Participate in conducting required annual training of plant personnel (lockout/tagout, confined space, fire extinguisher, Hazmat, etc.) Liaison for State or Federal Inspectors, Local Fire Department & Insurance inspections, including annual boiler inspections Regular contact with employees from production, printing, administrative, and maintenance departments. Contact with outside contractors, insurance companies, regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, AIB, ASI), water and sewer departments, (city) utility companies, fire marshal and vendors on an as needed basis or by direction of the Plant Manager \n Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required 10+ years’ plant maintenance work experience is required 5+ years of successful supervisory experience is required Must have the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems to component level and provide solutions Basic PLC and VFD experience Requires an individual with excellent knowledge of inline manufacturing equipment and processes. Specifically, Extruders, Bag Machines, Winders, Blenders, Resin Vacuum Conveying Systems and Railcar Unloading Systems Knowledge of Blown Film plastic extrusion and converting machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics and lubrication preferred, successful heavy industrial experience may be accepted in place of specific industry knowledge Must be able to use and effectively administer a CMMS System with a heavy focus on Work Order and Inventory Management Must be familiar with and able to use all hand and diagnostic tools used in manufacturing maintenance Knowledge of the application of Lean Manufacturing, TPM and 5S methods Computer literate in MS applications: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong ability to properly diagnose electrical component failures and provide solutions Expert level experience in LOTO systems required \nBenefits
