Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and oversee all maintenance functions in our centrifugal foundry and machine shop. This position is a full-time role and is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all facility systems and equipment, including casting machinery, furnaces, CNC and manual machines, and material handling systems. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a hands-on approach to maintenance management in a heavy industrial environment.
Leadership & Supervision:
Supervise and support maintenance technicians, electricians, and mechanics across all shifts.
Plan, assign, and review daily work tasks, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Equipment & System Maintenance:
Oversee maintenance and repair of centrifugal casting machines, induction furnaces, CNC and manual machining equipment, cranes, and support systems.
Ensure critical infrastructure—electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, dust collection, and HVAC systems—is maintained and functioning safely.
Respond to equipment issues and coordinate e?ective troubleshooting and resolution.
Plant, Site, and Grounds Maintenance:
Manage the upkeep of all physical structures, facility utilities, exterior areas, and site infrastructure.
Oversee snow removal, landscaping, drainage, lighting, parking areas, and building exteriors.
Ensure plant cleanliness and organization, including outdoor storage, scrap management, and environmental compliance on site.
Coordinate with contractors for facility repairs, renovations, and upgrades when needed.
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability:
Develop, schedule, and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance (PM) program to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned downtime.
Keep detailed maintenance records and documentation using a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Coordinate inspections and testing for critical equipment and systems.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance work complies with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental standards.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of maintenance activities and equipment.
Lead and support root cause investigations following equipment failures or safety incidents.
Inventory & Contractor Management:
Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance supplies, and tooling to support uninterrupted operations.
Coordinate with outside vendors, contractors, and service providers for specialized work.
Review and approve maintenance-related purchases within budget guidelines.
Training & Team Development:
Identify training needs and ensure maintenance team members are properly trained on equipment, safety protocols, and technical skills.
Mentor and develop junior sta? to grow internal capabilities.
Qualifications:Education & Experience:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or foundry environment.
2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Technical Competencies:
Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Strong knowledge of centrifugal casting processes, furnaces, and industrial machine tools.
Experience with CMMS software for tracking work orders and maintenance history.
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Preferred Certifications:
OSHA 30-hour certification
Industrial Electrical License or equivalent
Crane and lifting equipment inspection certification
