Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance department in a fully vertically integrated fastener manufacturing facility in Waco, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and peak performance of all manufacturing assets through the implementation of a robust predictive and preventative maintenance program. This role is a key driver of safety, quality and operational efficiency within our advanced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
+ Safety and Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards. Lead departmental safety meetings and conduct regular safety audits.
+ Maintenance Strategy: continue to develop, implement, and optimize a comprehensive maintenance strategy focused on maximizing asset reliability and minimizing unplanned downtime. Champion a proactive, data-driven maintenance culture.
+ Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of skilled maintenance technicians across multiple shifts. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
+ Predictive and Preventative Maintenance (PdM/PM): Oversee the execution of PdM and PM schedules using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Utilize data, such as vibration analysis and thermography, to predict and prevent equipment failures.
+ Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and potentially robotic systems, including troubleshooting and repair, specific to cold forming, heat treat ovens, plating lines, and packaging equipment.
+ Continuous Improvement: Work collaboratively with production and engineering to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and implement corrective actions. Drive lean manufacturing initiatives, such as 5S and Kaizen, within the maintenance function.
+ Resource Management: Manage the departmental budget, control costs, and oversee the procurement and inventory of spare parts and tools.
+ Capital Projects: Assist in the design and installation of new equipment and upgrades, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders from specification to start-up.
+ Reporting and Analysis: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), maintenance costs, and machine uptime. Present findings to senior management to guide strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree required; degree in engineering or a related technical field is preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Facilities Manager) are a plus.
+ 5+ years of relevant experience as a maintenance manager, preferably in heavy manufacturing such as cold forming/forging/casting/machining facility.
+ Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
+ Extensive experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
+ Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
+ Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with all levels of the organization and manage vendor relationships.
+ Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
+ Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle stress effectively.
+ Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
