**Automation & Controls Technician**
**Position Overview**
A high‑volume production facility in Tracy is seeking an experienced Automation & Controls Technician to support, troubleshoot, and optimize automated systems across the plant. This role focuses on PLCs, HMIs, sensors, robotics, and industrial control networks. The ideal candidate is analytical, safety‑driven, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated production equipment, including PLC‑controlled systems, VFDs, servos, and instrumentation
+ Perform diagnostics on electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical control systems
+ Program, modify, and optimize PLC logic (Allen‑Bradley preferred)
+ Maintain and update HMI screens, control panels, and system documentation
+ Support installation and commissioning of new automation equipment
+ Conduct preventative maintenance on control systems to reduce downtime
+ Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve system performance
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards, GMPs, and facility procedures
+ Respond to emergency automation or electrical issues as needed
**Qualifications**
+ 3+ years of experience in automation, controls, or industrial electrical maintenance
+ Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
+ Experience with VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial networking
+ Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical diagrams
+ Familiarity with SCADA systems is a plus
+ Strong troubleshooting skills in high‑speed manufacturing environments
+ Ability to work in cold, wet, or fast‑paced production areas
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Tracy, CA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $76000.00/yr.
