Our facility in Singapore has key functions in research and development, procurement, sales and finance for our Lighting and Detection business lines, in addition to key functions related to our Optics Manufacturing capabilities.

This site produces optical lenses such as spherical, aspherical and plano optics, with large machine shop capabilities and expertise in optical coating and assembly. Our photonic products and solutions serve a wide range of markets and applications in the areas of medicine, life science, industrial manufacturing, defense, and aerospace, as well as research and development. 

We are presently seeking a Maintenance Engineer that responsible for developing maintenance excellence, ensuring production equipment reliability, and providing day-to-day technical support for production operations.

Main responsibilities:

Provide technical expertise to support the department in maintaining and improving equipment uptime and reliability. Act as the deputy for the Maintenance Manager when required. Develop strategic maintenance plans and lead initiatives to achieve factory equipment reliability targets. Ensure maintenance systems and standard operating procedures are strictly followed by all team members. Implement TPM tools and methodologies to progress through the Planned Maintenance Pillar. Oversee and ensure the timely and cost-effective execution of major capital investment projects in alignment with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) capital expenditure budget. Own and manage maintenance KPIs, including equipment availability, downtime, and overall equipment effectiveness. Develop and continuously enhance the technical skills and competencies of the maintenance team. Maintain an organized inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and consumables to support uninterrupted maintenance operations. Monitor and control repair and maintenance costs, ensuring alignment with budget targets. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and industry best practices to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related field. At least 8 years of relevant working experience, preferably in a manufacturing or automation environment. Experience in TPM implementation is preferred. Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is an added advantage. Strong background in Equipment and Maintenance Engineering, especially in automation systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts across all levels of the organization. Effective leadership and coaching skills to guide and develop a team of engineers and technicians. Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. Hands-on experience with TPM in a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean tools to drive equipment efficiency and reduce waste. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure and time-sensitive situations.
