Job Description
This position involves the maintenance and mechanical upkeep of food production machinery, including machining, welding, carpentry, and painting. The role requires utilizing various tools such as voltmeters to assess electrical circuits and involves troubleshooting and calibrating complex control systems.
ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical and mechanical repair of equipment.Troubleshoot and repair packaging equipment and conveyor systems.Record and report on damaged, worn, or broken parts.Use voltmeter to identify voltage, amperage, and resistance of electrical circuits.Install, diagnose, and repair electrical systems and components.Read and interpret electrical schematics to diagnose problems.Replace defective components and wiring, and adjust mechanical parts.Calibrate control panels using relay logic, Cam-driven switch boxes, heat and humidity controls, and process control valves.Work with motor starters, run relays, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and servo motors.Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, and replace filters.Diagnose electrical/mechanical problems and refer to blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.Use CMMS Systems to enter maintenance records and manage spare parts inventories.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5+ years’ experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment as a maintenance mechanic.Strong experience with lockout/tagout procedures.Proficiency in electrical and mechanical technologies and instrumentation.Knowledge of GMP, USDA, FDA, and OSHA standards.Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate control panels and various systems.Experience with CMMS Software.Additional Skills & QualificationsSQF Certification is desirable.Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).Familiarity with electrical, temperature controls, plumbing, and packaging equipment.Why Work Here?
