Job Details The Maintenance & Electrical position performs a variety of routine-to-skilled general duties in the repair, alteration and modification of building's electrical equipment and devices. This position will rotate between facilities. Responsibilities of the Maintenance & Electrical position include: Performs a variety of repairs and upgrades on various components of both the normal and emergency electrical distribution systems. Troubleshoots non-medical electrical equipment, i.e., motor controllers, lighting systems and electrical distribution components. General ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufactures manuals. Basic understanding of emergency distribution system, automatic transfer switches, generator mainframe and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting of said systems. Performs weekly testing of emergency distribution system, automatic transfer switches, documents all findings and makes basic repairs when needed. Troubleshoot and repair various communication and alarm systems such as Nurse call, Code 999, P.A. system, fire alarm system and various audiovisual alarm systems. Takes part in electrical phase of renovation projects including demolition, rewiring and new installations. May perform routine general maintenance repairs and other duties as required. May remove snow either manually or with motorized equipment. Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel, patients and the public. Performs a variety of routine manual duties such as moving supplies and equipment, removing trash and debris, etc. Makes inspection rounds per established formats and log findings, evaluates problems encountered, either addresses said problems in the field or reports to foreperson for further instruction. Requirements for the Maintenance Mechanic role include: Three year’s related experience minimum with preference given to additional experience in a health care environment. Ability to continually add to personal technical knowledge through job related exposure. A valid New York State driver’s license. High School diploma or G.E.D. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively. Knowledge of Windows NT and CAD preferred. Ability to read electrical schematics. Salary Range USD $36.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
