This position is for Parker Hannifin’s Composite Sealing Systems Division, located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), California. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Maintenance Department Lead is responsible for maintaining the operation of key process equipment used to manufacture sealing products. The Maintenance Department Lead ensures the safe and productive operations of our manufacturing process through scheduling and ensuring completion of preventative maintenance, skilled repairs, safety inspections, and customer service. The Maintenance Department Lead must have an eye for detail, capable of reviewing the performance of the Maintenance team, and act with safety as a core value. In addition, they're responsible for escalating issues to the appropriate level if problems arise. Lastly, they will be asked to execute basic problem solving, participate or lead in continuous improvement events or projects, and schedule outside contractors. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: + Supervise daily operations within the department to ensure productivity and efficiency. + Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. + Monitor team performance and workflow, make adjustments as necessary to meet production goals and quality standards. + Inspect and evaluate the quality of work produced by the team, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards. + Communicate and document performance opportunities as well as policy infractions for other Maintenance team members. + Manage a budget for the maintenance and facilities. + Lead HPT special projects and sessions with agenda, actions, and data. Example: Kaizen + Perform daily hands-on work and actively engage in day-to-day operations alongside team members. + Manage and schedule contractors and outside services for repairs. + Communicate and plan for downtime and repairs with internal customers. + Utilize downtime data through problem solving tools to implement predictive maintenance measures. + Participate in internal and external audits focused on our PM system, calibration compliance, and or downtime performance. + Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control problems and determine method of repair or replacement. + Maintenance of machinery and procurement of necessary materials. + Install electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors and other such equipment. + Inspect equipment to determine reasons for malfunction and take corrective action. Replace worn or broken parts. Disassemble, troubleshoot, clean/repair mechanical unit parts. + Work from complex blueprints, drawings, sketches, schematics and manufacturing specs. + Perform functional tests of installed, rebuilt, or repaired machines/equipment. Make necessary adjustments. Check capacity, accuracy and performance. + Perform safety inspections related to guarding. + Collect and analyze daily production data, entering information into relevant databases for tracking and reporting purposes. + Partner with other departments to coordinate efforts, share resources, and resolve any issues that may impact production and overall operational efficiency. + Address and manage low-level conflicts and disagreements among team members promptly and effectively to maintain a harmonious work environment. + Escalate concerns, production issues, and other necessary items to appropriate leadership or departments to ensure timely resolution and maintain operational flow. + Support and implement training programs for team members to enhance their skills and competencies, ensuring they are equipped to meet current and future challenges. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: + High school diploma or general education degree (GED) + Forklift certification Experience: + 10+ years of maintenance related experience in a manufacturing environment + Previous experience in a supervisory role or relevant field, preferred + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) + Computer software to manage PM and spare parts Skills: + Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. + Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team. + Ability to manage and resolve conflicts within the team. + Ability to model desired behaviors and work ethic, setting a positive example for team members to follow. + Ability to analyze situations critically and make informed decisions. + Ability to work, train, and develop verbal and written instructions. + Ability to speak, read, write, and direct others in English. + Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety. + Ability to adapt to changing tasks and work assignments in a fast-paced setting. + Ability to understand and adhere to quality standards in production processes. + Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. + Ability to read and understand bar graphs for department metrics. Physical Demands: + Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly. + Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. + Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time. + Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time. + Ability to wear required PPE throughout the entirety of the shift. + Ability to use power tools and heavy machinery. SALARY INFORMATION: Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $26.75 - 40.75 per hour.
