Looking for a hands-on role where your maintenance skills keep everything running smoothly? Spectrum is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to handle building upkeep, coordinate with service vendors and support facility safety. Your work ensures our offices remain safe, efficient and welcoming, making a direct impact on daily operations and the customer experience.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Perform routine maintenance for building interiors, exteriors and grounds throughout the yearAssist with maintaining office equipment and manage inventory of suppliesSupport budget planning and help select and coordinate work with facility service vendors and contractorsEnsure vendor and contractor activity does not disrupt daily functions, including for capital improvementsHelp administer facility safety programs, conduct safety trainings and coordinate drills in line with regulatory guidelinesRepair and maintain electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, perform minor carpentry and painting, and monitor backup generatorsMaintain facility security through records management of keys, access levels and alarm codesWorking Conditions
Exposure to dust and varying indoor temperaturesWork and travel in inclement weatherPhysical Requirements
Carry, climb and operate extension ladders up to approximately 28 feet and 75 poundsWork standing for 50 to 70 percent of the timeRequired Qualifications
Experience
Building maintenance work experiencePlumbing or carpentry experienceElectrical wiring work experienceHVAC work experienceEducation
High school diploma or equivalentSkills
Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in EnglishAccurate measurement using tapes and measuring toolsKnowledge of local and federal regulations and company policiesSkill in identifying wire sizes and colors and working with small componentsProficient record keeping and organization abilitiesComfortable working at heights such as poles and roofsSkilled with hand tools including drills, hammers, wrenches and screwdriversIndependent work capabilitiesComputer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet softwareUnderstanding of basic mathematics, electronics and cable television productsFamiliarity with National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, HVAC systems and backup generatorsAbility to focus and utilize close and peripheral visionValid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and auto insurance as requiredPreferred Qualifications
