Location: Milan (initially), then assignment to AFG in approx. 2 years

Client: O&G Operator (via Airswift) Position Overview
Airswift is seeking an experienced Maintenance Contracts Engineer to support our client, a leading Oil & Gas Operator, on the MOZLNG project. The role is responsible for managing all contract activities related to maintenance and inspection services, ensuring technical integrity and plant availability across both project preparation and operational phases. Service Purpose
To oversee and manage all maintenance-related contract activities for the MZLNG plant, ensuring timely execution, efficiency, and compliance, while supporting the technical integrity and operational availability of the facility. HSE Responsabilités Adhere to all HSE, Company policies, confidentiality, compliance requirements, and procedures. Demonstrate strong safety leadership by practicing safe work behaviours and reporting hazardous situations. Contribute to continuous improvement in HSE culture for self, colleagues, and contractors. Attend and maintain all mandatory HSE training and ensure compliance for team members and vendors. Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and other relevant initiatives. Key Responsibilities
During Project Phase Monitor the progress of Work Package 6 executed by MIEC across all disciplines. Coordinate procurement of materials and spare parts for Maintenance and related departments. Follow up on expediting activities for spares and materials with project logistics, C&P, TGP, and supplier factories. Coordinate contract planning activities for Maintenance and associated departments. Execute all preparatory activities required during the project’s readiness phase. During Operations Ensure personnel safety, environmental protection, and equipment technical integrity within the assigned scope. Continue coordination of contract planning for Maintenance and other departments. Liaise with the Contracts & Procurement Department to track progress in SOW updates, tenders, and contract awards. Prepare Purchase Requests and Call-Offs. Review contractor monthly invoices and monitor expenditures against approved budgets. Ensure contractors meet all contract deliverables, quality standards, safety requirements, and performance KPIs. Work with other maintenance services to develop technical scopes for new contracts, modifications, and scope changes. Prepare and manage Calls for Tender in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and C&P. Review and evaluate technical offers. Support contractor pre-qualification processes. Lead quarterly performance and coordination meetings with contractors. Ensure maintenance KPIs are tracked, maintained, and reported. Technical Requirements Strong understanding of Oil & Gas / LNG equipment, maintenance methods, and repair processes. Knowledge of large rotating equipment (gas turbines, compressors, expanders, pumps) and LNG loading arms. Proficient with SAP PM (CMIMS) maintenance modules. Familiar with Ariba or similar contract communication tools. Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of industry-standard applications. Strong command of written and spoken English. Qualifications & Experience
Education Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent international standard) in: Rotating/Mechanical Engineering Instrumentation/Control Electrical Engineering Business
Or relevant equivalent experience. Experience Minimum 15 years of maintenance experience in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry. Minimum 10 years in senior-level maintenance positions. Minimum 7 years experience focused on contracts management.
