Overview
The Maintenance Apprentice gains on-the-job knowledge from the maintenance team by learning and performing basic repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance tasks across facility equipment and systems. This role is designed to provide hands-on technical training while helping ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building and production assets.

Key Responsibilities

Help troubleshoot equipment issues under the guidance of experienced technicians Conduct basic inspections, record findings, and document completed workLearn to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectivelySupport preventive maintenance schedules and update maintenance logsKeep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standardsFollow all workplace safety rules and report hazards promptlyParticipate in training and development activities to build technical skillsAssist in performing routine maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and HVAC equipment

Qualifications
 

Must be 18 years of age or olderMust be currently enrolled and pursing a college degree/certificate in a related field of studyWillingness to learn and take direction from experienced techniciansBasic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools is helpfulStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyGood communication and teamwork skillsThis role is a part-time position. Will be required to work 4 hours/day. Must be flexible to meet the needs of the company. This includes daily, off-shift work, weekends, shutdowns, and holidays. Must also have flexibility to adjust work hours on short notice and willingness to be on-call if the need arises.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Perform tasks requiring hand and eye coordination, with good hand dexterity (gripping and pinching repetitively) for more than 2/3’s of work shiftLift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 10 pounds continuously, 25 pounds repetitively and 50 pounds occasionally.  Lifting or carrying objects over 50 pounds requires a two person lift, or a lift assistBend, twist, squat, kneel, and/or stoop repetitively 4 hours per dayReach overhead repetitively for more than 2/3’s of work shiftStand continuously for 4 hours per dayClimb up and down stairsUse of senses to detect quality defects and unsafe conditionsModerate physical exertion
