Maintenance Mechanic

The opportunity:

This position supports the maintenance and repair of machines and equipment throughout the plant. Assist other crafts and maintenance personnel in the performance of work outside of maintenance duties and responsibilities as assigned. Successful applicants will be required to complete training and certification in a second craft..

What you need to succeed:

Function and communicate effectively in a team environment.Effective trouble shooting abilities.Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and drawings.Ability to properly document repairs and inspections.Computer skills adequate to look up bill of materials and stores parts, enter work results, and complete work orders.Working knowledge of rigging equipment and techniquesThe ability to follow all safety requirements of job functions.Comply with all Environmental policies and guidelines.Have working knowledge of precision maintenance tools and practices.The ability to perform routine maintenance; non-routine/emergency maintenance; assisting with machinery installation and disassembly and keeping accurate documentation on all machinery and mobile equipment.The ability to inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintains equipmentSuccessful completion of a two-year associate degree in an industrial related discipline (or equivalent military training) or three (3) years of experience working as a journeyman in one of the following crafts, Electrical, Instrumentation, Millwright, Machinist, or Pipefitting/Welding.Candidates must possess and be able to demonstrate maintenance aptitude and skills in either the mechanical or electrical/instrumentation disciplines.Formal training and/or practical experience in heavy industry or similar services will be considered. Present or past holding of certifications such as State Master Electrician licenses, welding certifications, etc. are desirable.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have desire to learn manufacturing processes.Ability to work 12-hour shifts.Ability to work weekends, holidays and overtime as required.A strong safety mindset and a commitment to work safely.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend and kneel throughout the entire shift.Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
