Job Description Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer to support and enhance mission-critical legacy systems within the Global Information Security organization at a major financial institution. This ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high-performance applications, modernizing legacy codebases, and ensuring seamless data integration across platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications using COBOL and SAS within a z/OS environment, while optimizing JCL for batch processing and managing DB2 data structures and queries. They will analyze and resolve production issues, conduct code reviews, and tune DB2 programs for performance. Additionally, they will collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems, support integration with modern platforms and APIs, and participate in system upgrades and migrations. The candidate will also ensure thorough documentation of technical processes and maintain compliance with internal security policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires 5 days a week on-site in Addison, TX. Skills and Requirements - 8+ years of experience in COBOL and SAS programming. - 5+ years of hands-on experience with DB2 in a mainframe environment. - Strong knowledge of JCL, IBM utilities, REX DB2 utilities (e.g., LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG) - Experience with SQL performance tuning and optimization - Experience in financial services and Identity and Access Management. - Familiarity with NDM, FTP, and batch file processing. - Knowledge of Agile or hybrid SDLC methodologies. - Experience with debugging tools (e.g., Xpediter, Abend-AID) and source control (e.g., ISPW). - Knowledge of: CICS, VSAM, ISPF Panels, Easytrieve, and API’s - Certifications in DB2 or mainframe technologies
