Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Mail Services Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing and completing work requests, maintaining warehouse operations, and assisting in the management of both manual and electronic inventory systems. This role requires handling mail services, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring the availability of office supplies.
ResponsibilitiesProcess and complete work requests, including warehouse maintenance and file management.Load and unload boxes or trucks, clean storage areas, and ensure equipment security through locks and record-keeping procedures.Receive incoming freight and deliveries, verify items against invoices, and ensure all items are in good condition.Coordinate agency surplus items following DAS procedures using the Property Surplus system.Handle mail delivered by USPS, DAS mail shuttle, and mail couriers, ensuring timely delivery to agency divisions.Assist Supply Specialist 2 in maintaining adequate supplies of copy paper and other essentials.Order supplies within authorized limits and coordinate purchases above limits following purchasing rules and procedures.Communicate with vendors regarding billing errors and track missing shipments.Coordinate and assist in small office moves with Operations staff.Operate motor vehicles to deliver supplies, equipment, furniture, and mail.Answer staff inquiries about stock availability and purchasing procedures.Coordinate customer requests and maintain high-quality service through clear daily communication.Provide coverage for mail areas as necessary and deliver supplies and archive boxes between warehouse and DOJ offices.Essential SkillsData entry proficiencyMailroom managementCustomer service skillsMicrosoft Office proficiencyStrong organizational skillsEffective communicationAdditional Skills & QualificationsValid Driver's LicenseAbility to handle scanning, imaging, and sorting tasksWork Environment
This position requires working in-office five days a week, located at the Salem DOJ and the nearby mailroom/warehouse location. The role involves interacting with various departments and handling physical tasks related to mail and inventory management.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
