Responsibilities:
Operate lathes, mills, grinders, saws, and hand tools to machine parts
Follow blueprints, program readouts, and instructions to meet specifications
Select proper tools, speeds, feeds, and materials based on work orders
Inspect work using micrometers, verniers, gauges, and preset instruments
Adjust machines manually to control tolerances as needed
Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the work area
Assist in basic fixture creation and rough setups with guidance
Report to supervisors or higher-level machinists for troubleshooting or complex setups
Working hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Skills:
Familiarity with CNC conversational control and basic program edits
Ability to work independently after 4 to 6 months of on-the-job training
Basic computer skills and ability to follow written work instructions
Ability to lift and move up to 50 poundS
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 2 years of machining experience
Technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on training preferred
Able to read and interpret blueprints and basic machining specs
Good understanding of machinist math and use of measurement tools
