Job Summary:

A Machinist, under general supervision, performs any and all tasks as assigned by management based on the needs of the business.


Responsibilities:

•Job duties include but are not limited to setup and operate machine tools, fit and assemble parts, fabricate and/or repair mechanical assemblies, build fixtures and jigs (perform machine shop work); reading blueprints and machining various parts to drawing specifications within drawing tolerance using mills, lathes, drills and saws.

•General upkeep of machinery inclusive of cleaning, oiling, etc.

•Execute equipment and lay out assigned work.

•Typical tools used in the performance of work tasks/activities include but is not limited to indicators, inside and outside micrometers, pliers, tapes, screwdrivers, wrenches, basic machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

•Maintain and sign off on shop orders.

•Keep clean work area on a regular basis.

•Maintain records, forms, and logs as required.

•Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Education:

High school graduate or General Education Diploma.


Position Requirements:

•Formal craft training including Machine Tool Technology or Vocational Technical training.

•Three (3) plus years of related CNC machinery and other machine systems experience.

•Proven ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, read, understand and measure using metric system and standard dimensions.

•Work from Engineering drawings, sketches, shop orders, blueprints, schematics which is necessary to the completion of tasks or work.

•Ability to follow written/verbal instructions.

•Ability to become certified as a forklift operator.

•Willing to work rotating shifts.

•Must be able to regularly lift, move or carry 40 pounds.

•Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notification.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS:

· Physical demands described have been validated by on-site job analysis. · Postural:Must have the ability to move extremities and spine throughout a sufficient range of motion that will permit the employee to work in a variety of postures involving a range from floor to overhead level. Flexing and twisting of the trunk and other awkward postures are occasionally required.

· Dexterity:Must have good dexterity and frequently use one and two hands throughout the work period for hand tools and handling materials.

· Cardiorespiratory Demand: Must have sufficient cardiorespiratory fitness to be able to performmediumwork involving constant standing and walking, material handling and performing work in a hot, humid environment.

· General Physical Activities: Include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant/reading, reaching, hearing, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs and balancing.

· Physical Demand Level - Medium: Must be able to perform medium physical labor as classified by the United States Department of Labor. Physical demands typically involve lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling not to exceed 60 lbs.
