Primary Duties:
Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, Mills, turns, and understand all shop tool equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
Reads, interprets, and follows drawings, BOM’s and other specifications to determine machining requirements.
Ensures that all products meet specified tolerances, while following and meeting all quality standards essential to Unifiller Systems standards.
Assists with training of new employees when requested.
Maintains safe work practices by using all required safety equipment and procedures.
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner to facilitate efficient processes and good safety practices.
Carries out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Obtained Red Seal Machinist designation or is currently enrolled as an apprentice program is an asset.
Manufacturing experience, working with stainless steel an asset.
Experience using ERP software is an asset.
Mechanical aptitude.
Able to work with team members from different backgrounds and cultures.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational, time management skills and ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and image with a commitment to quality service.
Work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods.
Able to lift minimum 50lbs.
