Description:Machinist

Location: Carson, CA  
Term: Contract position – 6 months (extendable)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6 am – 2:30 pm  
Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour – based on experience

Responsibilities: 
•    Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines
•    Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production
•    Ability to maintain manufacturing tolerances as required
•    Ability to manufacture parts using GD&T tolerancing nomenclature
•    Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
•    Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task
•    Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment
•    Monitors production processes, adjusting feed and other settings to obtain best finished results
•    Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

Fabrication Job Responsibilities:
•    Ability to form sheet metal components to print
•    Ability to shape or contour sheet metal components using manual equipment or hand tools
•    Ability to weld steel, stainless steel, or aluminum assemblies using a TIG welder

Qualifications:
•    High school degree or equivalent
•    2 – 3 years’ experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
•    Working knowledge of safety protocols
•    Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
•    Solid written and verbal communication skills
•    Proficient in math
•    Basic computer skills
•    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
