Summary
Operates, after set-up by others, various production machines and performs light bench, hand and assembly operations in the department to which assigned. Operator will be held to established production and quality standards. Operator will have control to make minor adjustments to the process or machine after tasks are assigned.
Major Activities
After set up by others, takes specific instructions and operates various standard and specialized machines including but not limited to Tappers/Drillers, Crimpers, Pointers and Presses.
Perform such typical operations as loading parts or material into bins, hoppers and feeds; removing finished parts; operating switches, pedals and levers.
Observes operation for malfunction or improper processing of parts and corrects/reports.
Responsible for submitting “First Article”
Uses standard gauges to check parts according to specification.
Perform related tasks in departments to which assigned such as; assembling, drilling, deburring, sorting, counting, etching, stamping and recording of parts processed.
Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.
Must read blueprints and have knowledge to use micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, depth micrometers and dial indicators as needed and read blueprints.
Train other operators as required
Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.
Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.
